Well this is a throwback. All the way back in 2012, Robert DeNiro and Jay Z shared a few unpleasant words (mostly on DeNiro’s part) after Jay Z repeatedly failed to call the movie star back, and never delivered on a promise to record a song for the TriBeCa Film Festival. Naturally, this all happened at Leonardo DiCaprio’s birthday party. Jay Z reportedly tried to laugh it off, but DeNiro was legitimately miffed, and called the rapper “disrespectful.”
Very little came of the disagreement, and the internet collectively forgot about it until now. Jay Z and Robert DeNiro were recently spotted hamming it up, arm around one another, at a gala for amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research.
No word on what got the two to put aside their former beef, but a lot can happen in four years. Jay Z never did record that song for DeNiro though.
