Skrillex was hit with a lawsuit by one of his fans, Jennifer Faissl. The legal matter comes to a close as the jury awarded Faissl with compensation totaling $4,525,402. Ther DJ is being held responsible for 35% of the damages, amounting to approximately $1.6 million. His touring company, Lost Boys, will also take part in the payout, owing an additional $1.8 million. The jury found the fan to be responsible for part of her issue as well. She will not be entitled to the total amount due to her 15% share of the blame.

During a show in February 2014, Skrillex jumped off the stage while performing at The Belasco Theater. He ultimately landed on Faisal who later suffered from a stroke due to her injuries. The downtown Los Angeles venue was roped into the matter, also owing 450K of the damages.

Although the artist is disappointed with the jury's ruling, he expressed his love for each one of his fans: "There is nothing more important to me than my fans and their safety at my shows -- I want them to have fun and enjoy the music."

His attorney, Barry Thompson, still maintains that the video footage shows that his client "never made physical contact with Ms. Fraissl," adding, "Ms. Fraissl's active international travel schedule since her stroke seems unlikely for someone who suffered the type of mental and physical damages she and her attorney claimed."
