The star was reluctantly looking forward to the big day yesterday but she seems to have turned a new leaf now, praising her mother, Monica Fenty, in her latest Instagram post. Her mother shared an adorable photo of young Riri earlier today and Rihanna repaid the favor with a post of her own directed towards her mom. Rihanna included a sweet caption, saying, "10958 days ago @monica_fenty became a mother for the first time to her only daughter! Today is just as much your birthday as it is mine!"
Riri continued, "I love you mom! Thank you for carrying me, birthing me, raising me, supporting me, teaching me, and loving me unconditionally! The woman I am today is because of everything that you are! I thank God for perfectly hand picking you to be my mother when He sent my spirit to you! You are the greatest! Thank you!"
The post is incredibly heartfelt and it reminds us to always be thankful for your beginnings, no matter how famous you are.
