Unabashed comic book fans Rae Sremmurd are getting their own comic book off the ground.
With the help of Valiant, the entertainment company behind 2017's biggest-selling independent series Secret Weapons, the rap duo will produce their first comics project titled Shadowman/Rae Sremmurd #1. This debut effort arrives in October.
Speaking with Billboard, Slim Jxmmi said that "“comic books are a form of entertainment. I get to make all the sounds and effects in my head. It’s just like you use your imagination – you go through the pictures and the pictures are always awesome. It’s like an escape from reality." It sounds like it's a dream come true for both sides, with Valiant CEO Chief Creative Officer Dinesh Shamdasani saying that "[...] everyone here at Valiant is a huge fan of their music. The combination of their talents, along with those of Eliot Rahal and Renato Guedes – two creators that we’re very excited about – feels like a project will take fans and readers by surprise."
