In a series of deleted tweets, Lupe Fiasco wasn't too happy about Kendrick Lamar & SZA's "All The Stars" cover art resembling his own so much.
It appear Lupe Fiasco is a little frustrated with the cover art for Kendrick Lamar & SZAâs new song âAll The Stars.â Earlier Friday morning, the Chicago emcee hopped on Twitter to voice his disappointment in the recordâs similiar-looking cover art as his upcoming Drogas Wave album.
In a now deleted tweet, Lupe shared a photo of both cover artâs side by side, and said that he think that itâs a little too close for comfort, referring to them copying his style.
âEven I admit this is a little too close for comfortâ¦. damn now I guess I need a new album cover⦠thanx @TheBlackPanther,â he tweeted with a sad emoji. He also tweeted, âno matter how far you goâ¦you will reflect me,â before alluding to Kendrick borrowing the inspiration for his original Untitled album cover from Lupeâs Food And Liquor II cover, which is also a solid black design.
He didn't stop there either though. Lupe also said that he did the whole âbackwards albumâ concept with Tetsuo & Youth years before Kendrick did it with Damn. And he even brought up being into ninjas first too.
Lupe originally said he was going to change his album cover, but has since changed his mind and stated that he doesn't want people to think heâs biting K.Dotâs artwork. In another deleted tweet, Lupe wrote âwe gone keep it because I made it and itâs dope but I want everybody to mark the date so that yâall donât retroactively accuse of biting K-Dots album art when Wave dropsâ¦ok?â
Thanks to UpRoxx, who was able to capture a screen shot of the tweets before being deleted, yâall can check out Lupeâs gripe (below) and let us know what you think. Does Lupe have a right to be frustrated?
