Hayley Kiyoko and Kehlani play the role in their latest video for their collaboration “What I Need,” a track that appears on Kiyoko’s Expectations debut album.
In the new outing which takes the form of a short film, Kehlani runs away from home with her best friend portrayed by Kiyoko. The aunt she leaves behind questions the relationship between the two girls, assuming that they’re more than just friends.
Ultimately, through a series of unfortunate events that include a car crash and a creepy pickup truck driver, Hayley and Kehlani are forced to realize their affection for one another, sealing it with a very literal kiss. The clip, directed by Kiyoko, arrives just in the nick of time as June officially marks the beginning of LGBT Pride Month throughout the globe. Catch the full video above.
