D'angelo honors Eric Garner and Mike Brown on Saturday Night Live.

D'Angelo snuck into the end of 2014 with his first album in 15 years. While the record was universally acclaimed, fans have been patiently awaiting the live debut of the Black Messiah material, which came last night on Saturday Night Live.

As you may already know, D'Angelo's album was rush released following the grand jury decisions on the killings of Mike Brown and Eric Garner, and the singer continued to raise awareness of the young black men's deaths at his televised performance. After performing the ballad "Really Love", D'Angelo donned a hoodie for "The Charade", while his backing vocalists wore "Black Lives Matter" and "I Can't Breathe" shirts.

You can watch both performances below.
