With the appearance of a brand new #1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, each and every hip hop release highlighted below slipped over the past week, with the exception of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, who debuted at #4. That's a pretty wild trend to see: Rihanna went from #2 to #3, The Weeknd went from #6 to #12, Kevin Gates went from #9 to #13, so on and so forth.

Rihanna & Drake's "Work" Spends Another Week At #1 On Billboard Hot 100
Drake may still be without a solo #1, but "Work" is his second collaboration with Rihanna to top the charts, and it doesn't seem to have any plans to leave its perch. Last week, the single managed to steal the glory from Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" just as the double video for the track dropped, meaning that those VEVO streams have now been counted towards this week's numbers, so it's pretty obvious "Work" wasn't going anywhere.
Top Tracks: February 22 - February 28
Other than some resurfacing beefs (between Young Thug and The Game, and Rick Ross and Birdman, respectively) and the beginning of what is sure to be another drawn-out, highly-publicized Kanye West album rollout, it was a relatively quiet week, especially as far as full-length releases went.
28 Grams: Hip-Hop Instagram Recap (February 27)
Rap and R&B stars were flexing as much as ever this week, and while we usually see a beef or two spring up on Instagram, this cycle (for the most part) kept things pretty positive. Despited the fact he still hasn't made an account (that we know about, at least) Kanye West was all over the 'Gram over the last few days, taking som pics with 2 Chainz, Yo Gotti, Pusha T, and French Montana.

Following the Grammys there was a surge that gave hip hop artists a boost in sales. For example, Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly jumped up from #60 to #16 after crushing it at the award show. The Weeknd also jumped from #12 back into the top 10, landing at #6 for his post-Grammy week on the charts.

Rihanna Helped Puma Beat 4th Quarter Projections By $34.5 Million
Puma isn’t really considered a major player within the sneaker industry. People definitely wear Pumas, but they can’t touch Nike or Adidas in terms of cultural clout. However, they might be well on their way to changing that with a few well chosen celebrity associations.
