We're seeing a few new rap entries grace the Billboard 200 this week, with new albums out from Lil Durk and Dom Kennedy. Durk's debut, Remember My Name, has been a long time coming, so long in fact, that it appears fans may have lost hope. Even with its release, it's received sub-par reviews. It may not have been a complete flop, but it didn't crack the top 10 for its debut.

Get Home Safely, Dom Kennedy’s second studio album and follow up to last year's Yellow Album, demonstrates Dom Kennedy’s unique ability to weave highly accessible stories into his lyrics without compromising intelligibility. Actually, it’s not a trait unique to him. Artists like Slick Rick, Snoop and Nas are known for this same technique.

This week saw a range of debuts from a range of artists. The top entry within rap and R&B went to Jason Derulo who slid in at number four, just under Rocky who managed to have another strong week. A little farther down Chicago drill hero Lil Durk put his debut album in at number 14, and Dom Kennedy quietly slipped in at 23. While me may see the latter two LPs fall in the coming weeks, Derulo has been known to stick around, especially considering he's got a few potential hits lined up.

In recent history, there’s been a few kinds of rap albums: the long ones and the short ones, those with lots of features and those kept rather personal. A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, and The Social Experiment went with longer listens peppered with tons of flavor from their friends and collaborators. Drake put out a lengthy album but the features were scarce, while Earl Sweatshirt decided a 30-minute album was the way to go. 

Dom Kennedy has been working hard since his rise to prominence in 2008. Releasing 7 mixtapes, 2 albums and a bunch of features, Dom may just be the most prolific West Coast rapper in recent history. From The West Coast With Love is not only the name of Dom's 2010, highly-enjoyed mixtape, but also serves as an introduction to his entire steeze. If someone asked you who Dom Kennedy is, you could easily reply, "that boy is From The West Coast With Love." It's both his best-known work and artistic statement.

Dom Kennedy surprised fans the other day when he announced that he's dropping a new self-titled album in a couple weeks on June 2. With the album cover already revealed (see gallery), Dom decides to come through tonight and share the backside to it, ultimately unveiling the project’s tracklist as well.

Dom Kennedy dropped his new album, By Dom Kennedy, at the beginning of last week without much rollout or promotion, although he did post a picture on Instagram recently of a big billboard he took over in L.A. Nonetheless, fans were definitely asking for Dom to put the album up on Spotify like he did with his last release, Get Home Safely, and Dom has since obliged.

Dom Kennedy has taken a back seat when it comes to music, after releasing Get Home Safely just over a year ago. He's been keeping himself busy by touring in support of the album, but still, fans are fiending for some new music from the chilled out L.A. rapper. We caught up with Dom after a recent show, and the rapper promised us that he's been steady working even if we don't see the output ourselves.

In comments sections, Twitter mentions, forums and YouTube comments, Dom Kennedy's ravenous fan base have been fiending for new material for quite some time. After all, it's been almost two years since Get Home Safely dropped, and he's been pretty quiet about new music. Today, though, he's announced a new, self-titled album that'll arrive on June 2nd.

What better to celebrate the release of a new project than hitting the road for a nation-wide tour right? That’s exactly what West Coast homies Dom Kennedy & Casey Veggies are about to do next month. Taking to twitter on Tuesday, Dom announced that he’s hitting the road alongside Casey Veggies & Jay 305 for the “By Dom Kennedy" Tour. Kicking off October Oct. 17 in Miami, the 17-date tour will trek through cities like Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Toronto, Washington D.C., New York, & Los Angeles before wrapping up in Denver, CO on December 6.

Y'all remember "Nothin' But a G Thang"? Silly question. Of course you do; even if you weren't born when it dropped. Snoop and Dre helped birth a West Coast sound that was effortlessly funky and hasn't been matched since. Even if you've never been to Cali, we got a taste of what the lifestyle was all about. In the middle of rough streets, these guys knew how to have a good time and gave us one helluva soundtrack to match. 

 Dom Kennedy took to twitter last night and announced the title of his next album will be Get Home Safely.Outside of the title, Get Home Safely, Dom Kennedy mentioned that the album will be dropping this Summer of 2013. No other details have been given, but I would expect to hear some new material from Mr. Kennedy in the upcoming weeks here. Stay tuned.

After a big first quarter, May has been kind of a slump month for releases, as there's tons of noteworthy projects planned for this summer, but the last few weeks have mostly been dominated by singles, videos and news. However, we did get great new tapes from Gucci Mane, Fredo Santana, King Louie and Remy Banks this week, some crazy visuals from A$AP Rocky and some big singles from 50 Cent and Gunplay. 

After giving us a sample last month with their leak "Can Ya Blame Me?" the West Coast crew Warm Brew returns today with a full album stream for their new album Ghetto Beach Boys. The album not only boasts a feature from Dom Kennedy, but was executive produced by the L.A. staple. Along with Dom, we get appearances from Tunji, Augustine, Racella, Azizi Gibson and more.

HNHH presents "The Damon Campbell Show," in which our interviewer, Damon Campbell, conduct in-depth interviews with Hip-Hop artists. For the first segment, we have Skeme and Dom Kennedy in the seats to talk about their background and their current musical projects, while Dom kicks off his first show for the "Get Home Safely" tour in Detroit. Starting off the interview, Damon asks Dom about rapping Karaoke into his little sister's tape recorder, way back when.

Jay 305's buzz is beginning to transcend the internet and his native West Coast, with the release of his lead single "Thuggin," produced by DJ Mustard. The OPM-affiliated rapper may already have a major label deal under his belt (Interscope), however he's still pretty new to this rap thing, and was thus a perfect match for our On The Come Up series. 

Dom Kennedy and Skeme had quite the successful North American leg of Dom's "Get Home Safely" tour, and now the West Coast rapper is enlisting Krondon to join him on the second leg of his tour in Europe. To the satisfaction of his fans, Dom Kennedy finally announced a release date for his album Get Home Safely. The album hits iTunes on October 15th, and Dom came through today with two images that serve as artwork for the LP. The L.A. rapper posted both images on Instagram, which you can check out above.
