Earlier today, Wyclef Jean dropped a surprise new mixtape with a simple, yet effective concept. Inspired By finds Wyclef at his most chameleon-esque, sliding over instrumentals from some of his current favorite rappers; Kendrick Lamar, Young Thug, 2 Chainz, A$AP Ferg, Drake, Kodak Black and more are all represented on this one. Yet, as evidenced by the myriad freestyles set to it, Mike WiLL Made-It's "DNA" is once again the star, encouraging whoever raps on it to enter beast mode. We already know that Wyclef is a legend, and while he's taken to the melodic style in recent years, that doesn't stop him from holding it down on "Inspired By Kendrick Lamar."

Lyrically, Wyclef goes into some socially conscious territory, citing the slavery and black history embedded within his DNA. The verse is rich with royal imagery, and Clef continues dominating the instrumental until the climactic guitar solo. "Jimmi Hendrix in my DNA," says Wyclef, as he proceeds to kill it on the strings.

Quotable Lyrics

I got God, I got Twelve Tribes of Judah in my DNA
I just kick again then kick again like world cup score a goal
Yah that's him again, running through the cup like Ronaldo
I do public work, they try to Titanic the ghetto star
I know how they work, I know who you are
