Christine Chisholm is suing 2 Chainz for $5 million in damages for calling her a "thot" in a video that went viral, and she's doing it without the help of a lawyer.
The video in question depicts a backstage conversation between Chisholm and Tity Boi and ends with him asking her to leave. "Before the video had even started I was in the back room and we were just eating chicken wings," she said in an interview with CBS affiliate Charlotte-WBTV. "Actually, until the end, I really didn’t even know if they were recording. And I didn’t know that he was gonna post it on the blogs. I was just in shock.”
She claims that she lost her job as a barbershop manager because of the video and can't go out in public without suffering verbal abuse. Though she is opting to forego the assistance of lawyers, she is confident in her chances of winning the case.
“I feel like if I’m just honest with everything that really happened then there’s no reason why I wouldn’t win," she said.
2 Chainz lawyers have filed a response claiming that being called such words as "ho" and "skank" "are not factual and thus not defamatory."
