As we learned in our March Q&A with Trippie Redd, he met Phora on his very first tour with G-Eazy, and naturally, it led to some studio time between the two artists. Trippe can be seen in Phora's video for "Boss Up," and now with "Love Is Hell," we finally get to hear the two share a track. The spacey track is the perfect place for Trippie to flex his melodic muscle, stretching his voice to the limit as the drums fall out of the mix before re-entering as the rapper falls into a comfortable "YEAAAH!"-punctuated verse that finds him wailing about a woman he's "crazy" about, showing his romantic side: "Can't imagine having babies without you."
The song is set to appear as the title track on Phora's upcoming album Love Is Hell, which may or may not be inspired by Ryan Adams' album of the same name. Look out for it in October.
