Bobby Shmurda's "Hot Nigga" may technically be a "New York" record, it hasn't stopped plenty of Southern rappers to hop on the instrumental. One of the best to lend his voice to the cut is Trae Tha Truth, whose bassy half-whispered delivery becomes even more menacing when laid over the Jahlil beat.
Trae's take has now been given the video treatment, taking a similar approach to Shmurda, as he stunts in an alleyway with an enormous crew behind him.
Meanwhile, Bobby's single has broken into the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, and continues to steadily rise. Could the kid have a top 10 hit on his hands? We'll have to wait and see.
