Will Fuller V, Deshaun Watson's second favorite target after DeAndre Hopkins, tore his ACL in last night's win over the Miami Dolphins, coach Bill O'Brien announced around lunchtime. The injury occurred at the midway point of the 4th quarter as he attempted a catch on a deep pass from Watson. Fuller was tended to on the sidelines by the team's medical staff, after walking himself off the field without the help of a crutch or a teammate -- the injury metabolized later.
Fuller left the game with five catches for an impressive total of 124 yards, which included a 73-yard touchdown reception in the 3rd quarter to put his team ahead by 11 points. The Dolphins clawed back with an inconsequential field goal before the end of the quarter. Incidentally, the pass was the longest of both their "young" careers, as Fuller trotted the final 5 yards into the end zone after covering the route for 60+ yards.
Earlier in the season, Will Fuller missed a game after suffering a minor hamstring injury in the Texans' 37-34 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts. Before exiting that game, Will Fuller was again responsible for an end zone score. Rookie Keke Coutee has thus inherited the second wideout position, by virtue of his season-long injury. Fantasy owners should monitor his availability in the coming weeks.
