Peep the debut trailer for the latest Spike Lee joint.

Who of Hollywood's most influential black filmmakers, Spike Lee and Jordan Peele, are teaming up for a brand new movie about two men's mission to fight the Klu Klux Klan.

While the concept of the film sounds eerily similar to a famous Dave Chappelle skit, the film, titled BlacKkKlansman, is actually based on a true story. It stars Denzel Washington's son David Washington as Ron Stallworth, a black cop who manages to infiltrate the KKK with the help of a Jewish cop played by Adam Driver, Flip, who stands in for him whenever they meet with the Klan, face to face. While the film is likely taking heavy liberties with the story, the real Ron Stallworth actually managed to get promoted to local KKK chapter leader, while also going undercover with the Black Panthers. The film also stars Topher Grace as real life KKK Grand Wizard, David Duke, and will be directed by Lee, while Peele acts as an executive producer.

The trailer promises an action packed film that oozes just as much style as you'd expect from a Spike Lee Joint, with Klan rallies, Black Panther parties, and shootouts galore. The film is current screening at the Cannes film festival, but is set to release in theaters worldwide on August 10th.

Meanwhile, in between being an executive producer for this film, Jordan Peele has been busy working on the his next movieUs, which will follow up his Oscar-winning horror film, Get Out, and has a tentative release window of March 2019. Catch the full trailer for BlacKkKlansman below.
