The Slump God responds.

Earlier today, the divisive XXXTentacion reached out to his former best homie Ski Mask The Slump God and offered somewhat of an ultimatum. In an since-deleted IG video, X said "if you want me to make music, tell Ski Mask to be my friend again. Tell Ski Mask to be my friend again and I will make music. Tell him to be my friend again.” For some context, Ski Mask and XXXTentacion met while serving time, and became close friends. Together, they co-founded Members Only, and went on tour, did interviews together, and collaborated on music. However, since X's 17 album and Ski Mask's rising popularity, the pair seemed to have had a falling out. Evidently, it looks like X is seeking to change that.

After Ski Mask's social media pages were bombarded by X fans pleading the Florida rapper to do his part in the reunion, Ski Mask took a break from recording with Busta Rhymes to respond. In a video of his own, Ski addresses the recent ultimatum, saying "I'll always love that alien lookin' n***a named XXX. But I have to distance myself because it's like nobody would see me as an individual rapper if I don't. On top of that, that n***a crazy as hell," he concludes, with a laugh.

On the surface, it's hard to read Ski Mask's response. While it's clear that Ski will always have love for X, it seems as if he wants to keep his distance, at least for now. Ski's career is on an upward trajectory, and X seems to be surrounded by a string of recent controversies. Recently, X vowed to retire from music for good, after attempting to terminate a reported six-million dollar deal with Capitol records. It seems as if X is having a bit of a tough time, and hopefully he can get his mind right.
