To be a baller is one thing, but to have a song named after the epic balling you lay down is another. Orlando Magic rookie Mohamed Bamba's name was used for Sheck Wes' banger "Mo Bamba," which has been climbing the Billboard charts. The single is tucked away on Wes' Mudboy album. His raspy baritone hook and the addicting instrumental have propelled "Mo Bamba" to platinum status.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced that the single went platinum on October 30. "Mo Bamba" has been Sheck's biggest song to date, and it currently sits at the number ten spot on Billboard's Hot 100. Wes named the song after Bamba because the two were childhood friends growing up in New York. Speaking with TMZWes revealed that Bamba asked him for a shout out on a song, and instead he dedicated an entire track so the athlete. He claims that he was being courted by labels at the same time Bamba was being courted by NBA teams, drawing a comparison to their transition to the big league. Wes is signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music and Travis Scott's Cactus Jack Records, which are two of the biggest cosigns a young artist can get in the game.
