Former Bad Boy rap star Black Rob has been released from prison, after seven years of incarceration on a grand larceny charge. 

Young Money's femme fatale Nicki Minajpromised that when she reached a million followers on Twitter, she would hop on Ustream and announce her album title. After hitting a milli last week, Nicki honored her promise and hosted a web chat session last night (August 3), during which 13,000 users stopped in to watch. After calling fans that supplied their number via Twitter, she revealed her debut's title, 'Pink Friday,' which was named for its release on November 23 - the same week as Black Friday.

Black Wall Street associate DJ Skee recently revealed that Game's "Street Runners" Nas collaboration, which send a subtle diss 50 Cent's way, was recorded over four years ago.

According to Skee, the Brake Lights track had been kept under wraps.

Wiz Khalifa, the Pittsburgh MC who has been climbing the Hot 100 with his single "Black & Yellow," was arrested last night (Nov. 8) on marijuana charges in Greenville, NC, the Associated Press reports.

Seminal New Orleans rap label No Limit Records is being relaunched as No Limit Records Forever, a digital label run by founder Percy "Master P" Miller's 21-year-old son Romeo.



The legendary label, which sold over 75 million records from 1990 to 2003, will be reborn in 2011 with Romeo (formerly known as Lil Romeo) at the helm, aided by his brother, Valentino serving as Vice President, uncle Silkk The Shocker as Chief Operating Officer and cousin Black Don as Senior VP of A&R.

Months after Kanye West’s critically acclaimed album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, hit shelves, its cover art is still causing controversy. In an interview with The New Yorker, artist George Condo, who designed all of the covers—including the notorious artwork featuring an armless, white, naked phoenix sitting on the lap of a naked black man holding a bottle—said Mr. West specifically asked for an illustration that would get him in trouble.

After Lil' Kim proudly proclaimed she sold 113,000 copies of her new mixtape 'Black Friday,' her nemesis Nicki Minaj has written the next chapter in their everlasting saga. Last night, the Harajuku Barbie took to her Twitter account to tweet mocking words to Kim, who is depicted decapitating Nicki on the cover of the 'tape.

A South El Monte, Calif. man posing as a backup dancer was arrested Friday (Feb. 18), after stealing a laptop, a Louis Vuitton purse and various other valuables from the set of a Lil Wayne music video shoot.



According to police, Marco Negrete, 20, took a laptop, purse, a wallet and tickets to the NBA All-Star game, sometime between 9PM and midnight Thursday night (Feb. 17), from a trailer at Citrus College in Glendora, Calif. The trailer was located on the set of the music shoot for Lil Wayne and Cape Town, South Africa singer Porcelain Black.

As one of the most publicized feuds in rap over the past decade, Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj's beef has amplified in recent months. But the spar has surprisingly deep roots. Hip Hop DX caught up with Wiz Khalifa while he was at Philadelphia’s Wire 96.5FM radio station on a promo tour. DX asked Wiz if Lil Wayne’s recent ESPN interview (above) about remaking Khalifa’s ‘Black and Yellow’ was a subliminal response to the rapper’s supposed lyrical jabs in the past at Tyga.

Lil Wayne’s manager, Cortez Bryant, recently revealed that a potential merger with powerhouse management firm Hip-Hop Since 1978 is on the horizon.

LoLa Monroe has revealed that she signed to Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang imprint, breaking the news in an interview with Atlanta’s V-103 (via Rap-Up). During the chat, she said that the decision to link with the “Black and Yellow” rapper was based on the fact that their visions aligned.

Talib Kweli recently revealed to MTV that he and Mos Def, the duo making up Black Star, are looking to drop a new project sometime next year.

Common's newest album, "The Dreamer/The Believer" drops tomorrow, December 20th. However, it seems one of the features is not happy with Common's use of the N-word throughout the album.

The famed author Maya Angelou reads a poem she wrote on one of Common's tracks, and says she was unaware that Common used the N-word and that it would be used in this song particular song, called "The Dreamer." Angelou called the word "vulgar and dangerous" to the black community.

More lawsuit troubles for another rapper, this time Pittsburgh native Wiz Khalifa. According to AllHipHop Wiz Khalifa is charged with a $2 million dollar lawsuit, having been accused of stealing the hit "Black & Yellow."

Kreayshawn definitely isn't lacking haters, and Harlem native and up & coming artist Azealia Banks seems to have added herself to the list.

Yesterday on Twitter Kreayshawn tweeted the visuals for Azealia Banks' track "212," and Azealia Banks hit her back with unfriendly words, saying, "you think you're funny? you're a dumb bitch. And you can't rap. I'll sit on your face. ... Fall back slut."

According to Forbes, President Barack Obama does not support the SOPA bill. Yesterday thousands of websites went black for the day in protest of SOPA, which would censor the internet. The fight isn't over though, the bill will be revisted next month. Read about Obama's disapproval below.
