Listen to Rexx Life Raj's new song "2Free."

All signs were pointing to a new album from rising Berkeley rapper Rexx Life Raj over the past couple weeks after he dropped off two new songs, “IDFWYN” & “Freedom Love” last month and it turns out we were right. On Friday, Rex hopped on Instagram and announced that he would be releasing the sequel to his Father Figure project on November 17th.

“Pre-Order Father Figure 2: Flourish asap because I locked myself in the studio for the past year and reached into the depths of my soul to pull out the most genuine/honest/vulnerable Raj that I could find and then my big ass walked to this cliff (which was actually scary/dangerous af) because YOU DESERVE BEAUTY and also to show that niggas aren’t scared of wilderness and water.. also i’m still working on my dad-bod and i thought it would be a good leg workout.. BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HAD A PART IN THIS AND ANYONE WHO HAS EVER SUPPORTED ME IN ANYWAY! I love the fuck out of all of you .. it’s been a hell of a journey,” he posted along with the announcement.

Along with the announcement, Rexx went ahead and made the album available for pre-order on iTunes, ultimately sharing the first single in the process called “2Free.” It appears the previously heard “IDFWYN” & “Freedom Love” will NOT see life on the album, but rather serve as a nice appetizer to get us ready. However that’s okay, that just means more brand new music is on the way from Rexx.

Take a listen to the tranquil, Mikos Da Gawd-produced record and let us know what you think. If you’re a fan, be sure to show your support on iTunes.

Quotable Lyrics:

I do me, they be talking I aint tripping Im 2 free
Pop an addy make it happen thats routine
Ive seen them do it wrong I’ma get it right
Ive seen them do it wrong I’ma get it right
