Michael Christmas just turned 21 today, and while many would have run to the bar at the strike of midnight, he's enjoying the event at home. In celebration, he's released a new record dedicated to the setting -- and it's got the warm, upbeat feel that comes along with coming back to your hometown after being away for too long.
As you may know, Xmas was on tour with Logic earlier this year, so being back in one place for an extended period of time should be pretty damn comforting. He reflects on the tour life in his first verse, insisting he goes "hard as fuck" no matter the size of the crowd. We're confident he'll be seeing less of those small crowds pretty soon, and he's with us, later on envisioning the house he'll eventually buy his mom when he hits it big.
Used to sit on swings while we recited 50
Made my mama cry when I was acting shitty, damn
So now I'm taking care
Couple of dollars, I got it, she got it
Can't wait to pick out the crib she gon' live in
And do the down payment, deposit, big closet
