Though some have taken up proverbial arms against Machine Gun Kelly, the young rapper slash actor appears to be reveling in an upward trajectory. Now, in the wake of starring in the Netflix thriller Bird Box, Gunner sat down with GQ to reveal ten items he simply cannot live without.
Machine Gun Kelly sets it off with the relatable pick, coffee, albeit of the cold-brew variety. "My eyes probably don't open without them," he admits, before detailing the benefits of a cold cup o' Joe. "I'm really huge on what kind of beans they use, and what kind of caffeine high I'm going to get." He also teases his upcoming endeavor, a coffee lounge launching in 2019. Clearly, the man is serious about his craft. Number two is his red Gucci bag, which he uses to store his third essential, a hand-crafted blanket.
"I'm big into smells," he admits, busting out essential number four - incense. "Sometimes it's to mask the smell of whatever I'm smoking in my hotel room," he says. "Whenever I'm in my trailer doing a movie, I have that lit." He points to his shiny device, apparently a gift from Sandra Bullock. He also reveals that he's big into books, pulling out a few of his essential reads, including "Just Kids" by Patti Smith. His habits also include a "comic" addiction, which originally found him spending five to six hundred dollars on comics and graphic novels every time he went to get breakfast.
He's also got his notebooks, which include a few nifty customizations. Next is a straight razor, as he likes to "work for his shave." Never will he risk the dreaded "weird beard." His smell fixation returns with another must-have, a bottle of The Noir. "I'm huge on cologne," he says, before explaining his friend's custom designed "cocaine and cigarettes" cologne.
Next up is a Nintendo Switch, complete with Super Smash Bros, though he also likes Zelda and Mario Tennis. He also shows love to the passport holder. "This is my sixth passport," he admits. "I will not be issued another one if I lose it." Last but not least, is an acoustic guitar, proof that rappers can indeed dabble in live instrumentation. Peep the video now, and sound off.
