Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti had two of 2017's biggest singles, with "XO Tour Life" and "Magnolia" respectively. Clearly, both artists are talented. Lil Uzi's keen ear for melody pushes him to the top of his class, while Carti's effortless bounce has taken him from up-and-comer to influencer. Today, they've joined forces for a collaboration called "Bankroll," produced and shared by DP Beats. Off the jump, the track feels like a bit of a leftover; Uzi kicks things off with a low-effort verse, letting his charisma carry him through the motions. Lyrically, he's back on the Xanax and lean, reverting to his comfort zone with the familiar "yeah" flow.
Playboi Carti continues the free-flowing pattern with a singsong stream-of-consciousness delivery. It's by no means unlistenable. If you're a fan of either artist you'll no doubt find some enjoyment in this. Still, it's not exactly new ground for either party. You be the judge.
