Lil Uzi Vert and Nicki Minaj have joined forces to bring their collaboration "The Way Life Goes Remix" to life. In the Daps directed clip, Lil Uzi begins rapping while tied to a tree, looking exhausted as hell. While Uzi falls victim to the forces of nature, Nicki Minaj is posted up in a cabin, feeling herself up and flaunting a machete. Eventually, a pit bull comes through and gets in Uzi's face, but the rapper barely seems to notice. Eventually, a mysterious stranger emerges from the dark forest, and after that, Uzi's fate rests in her hands.
Despite the track's relatively uplifting melody, lyrics and chord progression, the official video is firmly entrenched in the macabre. That's not to say it doesn't work, but it does feel a little jarring at times, especially during some of the darker moments. It would have been nice to see Uzi and Nicki in the same scene, but maybe next time. Check out the video now, and sound off below.
