One look at the artwork attached to the Pick A Color bundle pack of single dropped off by Leikeli47 lets you know just where this is going as a poster boardechoes the famous words of Malcolm X, reading: "The most disrespected person in America is the Black woman. The most neglected person in America is the Black woman." What follows is 10 minutes worth of pure Black Girl Magic as Leikeli47 imprints wax with lyrics about womanhood, independence, good old-fashioned HBCU culture.
Pick A Color is only the first of two total sets of single bundles that are set to precede the masked Brooklyn rapper's Acryclic album. The follow-up to Pick A Color will be Design, with the titles fallinh in theme with a routine visit to the nail shop. Once Design arrives on November 7th, Acrylic is set to follow a week later.
“Acrylic is an invite into my world,” 47 says in a press release. “Come walk our streets. Come tour our campuses. It’s ghetto, it’s righteous, and it’s fun; and I’m talking my shit.”
