Kevin Barnett, Co-Creator Of "Rel," Dead At 32

The cause is still unknown.

The comedian Kevin Barnett, although only 32, has died in Mexico. The reason for Barnett's passing is either unknown or undisclosed as of yet, the news of it coming yesterday from New York comedy club The Stand via tweet:

Although it's unclear what happened to Barnett in Mexico, he was there apparently on holiday and posted a photo just a day before he died wearing a poncho that he calls a "sweater" and joking: "been accused of appropriation several times. In my head I just gave a lady some money so I ain’t cold. Either way. Swag heavy. Mixtape comin."

Barnett's death comes at the end of a big year for him. The show he co-created, Rel, was picked up by Fox and has been airing since September, getting some buzz for being loosely based on the life of Lil Rel Howery, who has been getting some recognition after his role in Get Out.
