Kendrick Lamar isn’t one to usually voice his opinions & thoughts on social media, so anytime he does there’s some serious weight behind his message and we should probably listen. And on Friday night, K. Dot decided to do just that & give a major co-sign to one of the industry's most controversial artists, XXXTentacion.

Taking to Twitter, Kendrick decided to give X a shoutout, telling his 9 million followers to listen to his newly-released 17 album.

“listen to this album if you feel anything. raw thoughts,” K Dot tweeted out along with the iTunes link, which will surely help X’s sales. Immediately following that tweet, K Dot then added “5th listen,” pretty much informing us that he’s really obsessed with X’s new album & already listened to it five times.

As Kendrick says, the album is filled with “raw thoughts” and is meant for people to feel emotion, which is the route X was trying to take. Before the album drop, X said this album was darker & was aimed at people fighting depression.

“It’s my first body of work, first official album release, and the first time I’ve put my all into a project, I mean it when I say this project is absolutely amazing,” X said. “If you listen to me to get hype or to not think, don’t buy this album, this one is for the depression, for the depressed ones, for the lost ones.”

Whether you like him or not, X’s music is touching millions of fans, including Kendrick Lamar, and at the very least you got to respect that. It’s not everyday K.Dot jumps on twitter to show love to a new artist or project outside of TDE.
