The Being Human in Public EP is being revealed one song at a time, that including this remix of "Body Count" which dropped in May. The Toronto-born songwriter leads a trio of women in speaking out against gender stigmatization. Kehlani for one opens up about queerdom in the 2nd verse where she proclaims that she "dodges dick for some pussy," when men show their colors I presume, or for any justifiable reason inside her head.
Jessie Reyez' upcoming EP already boasts "Apple Juice" and "Sola," two songs bearing the same cartoony cover infographic of Jessie coming to grips with reality. Normani, the other singer featured on the record, speaks of independence and non-uniformity, all in an unyielding manner. She too "dodges dick" again and again.
