West's "Saint Pablo" collaborator enlisted his help for the first single from his debut album "Process."
Sampha and Kanye West first collaborated on "Saint Pablo," the late-addition bonus track from West's The Life Of Pablo, which would later become the name of his accompanying tour. Turns out, this wasn't the only music Sampha and West worked on, as the South London songwriter reveals in an interview with Faster, Louder. "Timmy's Prayer," the first single from Sampha's upcoming debut album Process, also features contributions from Kanye.
"I wrote that song with Kanye West,” he says. "Sometimes you can be in a sort of loving relationship … that you don’t appreciate when you’re in it … but then when you’re without it you realise it was heaven, because you go out into the wider world and you can meet some real sharks out there, people who are out there for your blood."
Sampha's album is due out on February 3rd. Listen to "Timmy's Prayer" below.
