A crisp new collaboration from two of the Bay Area's strongest forces.

Bay Area rap is in good hands, as is evidenced on "Seasons," the sunny, subdued collaboration between Oakland's Kamaiyah and Vallejo's Yhung T.O.

A member of the rising group SOB x RBE, T.O. has had a big week through both the release of the lead single from the quartet's debut studio album and a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar on the Black Panther soundtrack. This standalone track from what is promised to be a weekly series of releases from Kamaiyah's, while a little more understated, is just as essential.

The Blakkat instrumental nods to West Coast rap's past, but glimmers like a shiny new paint job. Kamaiyah's vocals are fluid and effortless, sinking into the cushy synths like a couch groove. T.O. takes a similarly laid-back approach, but also shares deeply personal thoughts in his verse ("couldn't cry when I saw my uncle in a coffin").

Quotable Lyrics:
One thing's for certain
One thing's fo' sho'
They pose as friends
But the enemy's close
