JR Smith's newborn baby girl, Dakota is still fighting for her life in the NICU having been born five months premature, but she's doing well enough now that he finally got to hold her for the first time today.
Dakota weighed only one pound when she was born in early January and today JR shared a photo of his first contact with her on instagram, describing the moment as one of the greatest of his life.
"Today is one of the greatest days of my life. Today I get to hold my youngest for the first time! GOD is GREAT! #DakotaStrong."
Here's hoping that JR and his family will finally be able to take a healthy Dakota home in the near future.
