Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” arrived last year and is still garnering the filmmaker a legion of awards and his latest arrives in the form of the Ray Bradbury Award for Outstanding Dramatic Presentation at the Nebula Awards.
The award ceremony is conducted by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, and honors notable works from creators within the genres in the United States. It marks yet another notch on Peele’s belt after creating one of the more culturally significant and critically acclaimed works of the past couple of years.
Earlier in the year, Peele became the first black nominee to win the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. He also earned that same award at the Writers Guild of American and Critic’s Choice awards. “Get Out” also went on to earn trophies for Best Feature and Best Director at the Film Independent Spirit Awards.
Jordan Peele’s creative juices will actualize in a new effort picked up by Amazon titled "The Hunt," a new drama series about Nazi hunters in the 1970s while Peele is also credited as a producer in the newest Spike Lee joint “BlacKkKlansman.” The film, based on a true story of a black policeman who infiltrates the Ku Klux Klan, recently took home the prestigious Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival last week.
Currently, Peele also lays claim to being the co-creator of TBS’s new comedy series "The Last OG" while working on his next film "Us." Described as a “new nightmare,” the new film will debut in March 2019.
