It appears Jon Bones Jones is no longer the light heavyweight champion of UFC. According to TMZ, Jon Jones has tested positive for steroids following his UFC 214 victory over Daniel Cormier, and he has been stripped of his title. He reportedly tested positive for Turinabol, an anabolic steroid.

Jon Jones ultimately beat Daniel Cormier in their re-match back on July 29th after he smoked him with a head kick following a series of punches. At the time, Jones regained the title & belt after losing it a few years prior for failing his first drug test. He tested positive for banned substances in 2016 before UFC 200 and was pulled from the main event. Jones ultimately got hit with a 1 year ban, before he returned to the octagon this past July. Jones had blamed his previous failed test on a male enhancement pill, which he claimed he didn't realize the pill contained a banned substance and insisted he was not trying to gain a competitive edge.

However, for his latest failed drug test, TMZ was told Jones could be looking up to a four-year ban this time around.

A rep from Jones made the following statement after finding out the news…

"We are all at a complete loss for words right now. Jon, his trainers, his nutritionists and his entire camp have worked tirelessly and meticulously the past 12 months to avoid this exact situation.”

So as it stands, Daniel Cormier is back to being the light heavyweight champion of UFC. We’ll continue to keep you posted on this story moving forward.
