Quality Control's Johnny Cinco is currently prepping a new tape by the name of I Swear, and today, he's given us the honor of premiering one of its tracks. "Week Ago" is a Spiffy-produced banger.
Perhaps inspired by Bobby Shmurda's now-famous lyric from "Hot Nigga," the song has Cinco acting incredulous at how fast his life has transformed. It could've also taken some cues from Kanye and Jay Z's "H.A.M.," as the opening lines are almost identical.
Spiffy's beat is built around some huge, Phil Collins-style snare hits, which he craftily outfits with a slinky synth line and noisy hi-hats. Things are looking great for Cinco heading into 2015.
