Joe Budden's biggest hit, "Pump It Up," has played a central role in the rapper's bizarre beef with Drake. Drake's supporters have pointed to the song as evidence of Budden's irrelevance. (It peaked at #38 on the Billboard Hot 100.) Drake mocked Budden by rapping the lyrics at a Summer Sixteen show. Pump, pump, pump it up!!
What people forget is that the song is actually good. Just Blaze did the damn thing and Budden, who was only 22 at the time, shows off a technical proficiency and gruff vocal swagger beyond his years.
I'm 99% percent sure "Pump it Up" was on the Def Jam Vendetta II soundtrack.
