The artist formerly known as Shy Glizzy is now going as Jefe.

Shy Glizzy's 2016 project Young Jefe 2 contained some of the DC rapper's best material to date, and with the new year upon us, he's now taking on the titular pseudonym full-time. The rapper will be going as "Jefe" from now on, and while he's changed his name, his new music picks up right where he left off last year. "One" finds the rapper working once again with his frequent collaborator Zaytoven, and his signature nasally delivery is still fully intact.

The major change comes not musically, but with Jefe's lifestyle, as he explained to Fader. "Reinventing on a whole higher level. I earned the title Jefe. It comes with maturity, more responsibility, and putting more people in the position of being a boss in every aspect. With a name like that, you don't have a choice," he said.

The new single will appear on Jefe's upcoming EP The World Is Yours, which will arrive later this week on Friday January 6th. It will feature guest appearances from YoungBoy Never Broke Again, 3 Glizzy, Ralo, and Kash Doll.

Quotable Lyrics:

Remember back when all I used to do was hit licks
All a nigga really wanted was to get rich
Oh you ain't fucking with the gang?, then suck a full clip
Fuck what they talking bout, I'm really with that bullshit
