Foot Locker and Asics have partnered up to launch the “Welcome to the Dojo” pack, an exclusive apparel and footwear collection. Inspired by Asics' Japanese heritage, the collection celebrates the story of two dojos – rising sun dojo, which inspires fear in the hearts of all who hear its name, and snake dojo, revered as a respected institution where many have started the arduous trial to become a samurai.
The “Welcome to the Dojo” collection, which includes both apparel and footwear, will be available next Friday, August 24 exclusively from Foot Locker Inc. retailers including Foot Locker, Footaction and Champs Sports. The Asics Gel-Lyte 1 will retail for $90, while the Gel-Diablo is priced at $120.
In addition to the gear, the story behind the pack will be brought to life through a bespoke anime-inspired digital series, titled, “The Sun and The Snake."
According to Foot Locker, the original series features voiceover talent from notable personalities including Luka Sabbat (as the character “Sneaker Samurai”), Princess Nokia (as “Kiku”) and YFN Lucci (as “Ghost Samurai”). The anime-inspired series features five short animated episodes to support the official release of the Asics “Welcome to the Dojo” Pack. The episodes will also be shoppable for viewers to buy looks from the Asics "Welcome to the Dojo" collection at Foot Locker.
