Late last month, it was reported that Drake had visited a little girl in the hospital as she awaited a heart transplant. That same week, the artist admitted that he had actually postponed one of his concerts to go see her, granting her wish and giving her the will to push through her transplant surgery. She received her new heart and left the hospital a few days ago but she recently went back to Lurie Children's Hospital to see the friends she made and speak about her experience meeting one of her favorite stars, Drake.
A local ABC affiliate caught up with the 11-year-old to speak about her recovery, which is taking place at the Ronald McDonald House in Chicago, and what it was like to meet one of the biggest superstars in the world. "I froze," admitted Sofia, noting that the two speak regularly now. She even has Drake's personal cell phone number but she's unwilling to give it out for obvious reasons. When Drake walked into her room, she was trying to figure out if it was a dream or real life. She and the 6ix God are pretty close now. He even sent her an iPad Pro with an engraved message on the back.
Sanchez still has a long recovery road in front of her but her spirits are definitely high. Drake has plans to bring Sofia on stage to sing with him when the time is right. Watch the heartwarming video below.
