Although Drake didn't pay, Ninja is happy to have made a "meaningful connection."

Back in March, Drake played the game Fortnite live on Twitch against the famous streamer Ninja and lost a $5000 bet in the process. Drake said he would donate the money to Ninja's stream if he won the game (which he did) but Ninja has come out in a tweet saying that Drake never ended up paying him. It's all good, though. Ninja is much happier having made a "meaningful connection" with the rapper rather than taking his money (the 5k is also a drop in the bucket for both of them).

Drake's love affair with Fortnite didn't stop at the Ninja stream. He has since talked about rapping about the game, saying he would do it only "when Epic gives me the Hotline Bling emote, I’ll do it. Until then, I’m on strike.”

But, for those that think Drake is just in it for the love of gaming, some (including Ninja) think he has cannier motives. Apparently, Drizzy's stream with Ninja was another one of Drake's savvy marketing moves, the goal being to tap into another audience. As Ninja put it: "I feel like Drake saw that I was up-and-coming in the gaming scene, and he thought it would be a perfect way to just tap into another source of viewers by playing with me."

Clearly, the marketing has paid off, with Drake's Scorpion becoming the first album to hit one billion streams in one week.
