A team is now solely dedicated to creating new Dragon Ball content.

Dragon Ball Super came to a close this past weekend, leaving an empty spot in the hearts of many fans of the anime series. Unlike Dragon Ball GT, Super was masterfully crafted and delivered on all the things that made the Dragon Ball Z series wildly popular in the 90's. The conclusion of the series doesn't mean that Dragon Ball is done for good though. There have already been several spin-offs from the original Dragon Ball series that debuted in the 80's, so fans can expect another Dragon Ball series at some point in the future. Until then, a movie has been announced, and the latest Dragon Ball FighterZ game will fix that anime craving.

Toei Animation, the studio behind the Dragon Ball series, recently announced department restructurings. Via Hypebeastas a part of that restructuring, a new Dragon Ball department has been created. Toei understands who butters their bread; Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Trunks, and company bring in millions upon millions of dollars in profit each year (whether or not there is a new series being broadcasted or not).

At the beginning of April, Toei will launch a Dragon Ball Anime Planning and Production Headquarters. The plan is that the new department will focus solely on Dragon Ball, and will plan and produce all projects related to the series. Looks like a ton of new Dragon Ball content is on the way.
