DMX has been released from prison today (July 14th).
According to TMZ, the rapper posted a $500,000 bond in order to secure his release. He has previously pled not guilty to 14 counts of tax evasion, charges that landed him in jail in the first place.
The U.S. District Attorney's office says that he needed 2 co-signers to post the bail money. DMX has also been slapped with travel restrictions that ban him from leaving the New York City area. Strict drug testing and the prohibition of carrying a firearm will also be on the menu while he's on bail. A future hearing will determine if he'll be able to leave the NYC area in the near future.
Sources say that DMX confessed to hiding multiple years worth of income from the federal government and now owes the IRS around $2 million as a result.
