Cristiano Ronaldo In Talks With Facebook For $10 Million Docuseries

Variety has learned of plan to shoot a 13-part docuseries with soccer megastar Cristiano Ronaldo as the prime focus. A deal has already been struck with Facebook to create a scripted drama series produced by Ronaldo's newly launched studio wiip. Apart from the teen soccer drama Cristiano is keen to oversee with Facebook, the plan is to roll out 13-part memoir, much like ESPN's close ups which take us through a day in the life of a pro athlete.

Facebook is believed to have offered Cristiano a $10 million check for the production of the series, which they hope will help kick start their Facebook Watch, TV-style video streaming platform. A deal is said to be in the final stages of completion. The production of the series would be handled by American investors, including a consortium of current and former pro athletes such as Tom Brady and Michael Strahan.

Cristiano Ronaldo recently bowed out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup after Portugal lost out to Uruguay in the round of 16. His future at parent club Real Madrid to rumors of his disenchantment with living in the Spanish capital. Italian giants Juventus have reportedly tabled an offer of €100 million for his services. There is no shortage of buzz around his name.
