Chief Keef is fighting fire with fire. After the city of Chicago nixed his planned hologram benefit concert at the last second, he says he plans to proceed with a secret benefit concert.
The Glo Gang head honcho posted a sensational video to his IG yesterday that reads like a political campaign ad. The voiceover blares: “BANNED from the city of Chicago, Chief Keef, from a secret Chicago location, live via hologram, collecting for charity. Stop the violence now.”
The office of Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel said they cancelled the statement because Keef’s music “promotes violence” and poses “a significant public safety risk," enough that even a hologram projection of Sosa is unwelcome in the city.
What started as a noble gesture to raise money for the family of the slain 1-year-old has turned into a battle of wills between Keef and the city of Chicago. A secret location doesn't exactly lend itself well to a benefit concert. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. #TeamSosa
