It's almost inarguable that this year belonged to Cardi B. There are so many people that enjoy trying to rain on her parade but it's a fact that she's risen to become one of music's most recognizable faces in 2018. Nearly everything she releases is bound to be a hit as her Invasion of Privacy debut proved she has what it takes to leave a lasting impression. Much of what makes the artist so likeable is her personality. Although her bank account contains way more money than I'll ever see in my lifetime, she still feels like one of the more relatable members of the industry. It's not a surprise that one of her most viral moments was used in thousands of everyday exchanges between friends as her boisterous "Okurrrrr" has officially been declared as the most-used GIF of 2018.
We've still got a month to go before the end of the year but Giphy decided to release their data-driven findings to determine what GIFs people were using the most in their day-to-day lives. Many of the inclusions on the Top 10 list were tame as "Happy Birthday," a New Years Countdown, and more appeared. Cardi B marked one of the only pop culture references as she topped the list, becoming the most popular loop of the year. The moment in question stems from her appearance on Jimmy Fallon's late night show as she was one of his most memorable guests of 2018. She softly uttered "Okurrrr" on several different occasions, but this one ended up taking the gold.
