Allan Kingdom dropped the very well received Northern Lights mixtape earlier this year, and now we’ve got another track from the Kanye West co-signed artist. Featuring Texas rapper Kevin Abstract, “The Potion” is a mid-tempo track that evades characterization.
The Kiko Merley beat features booming bass and some clever keyboard work that manages to be fairly hyped up without relying on any trap snares. The rappers trade bars about being in their own lane, with “the potion” as a metaphor. The two have great chemistry, last collaborating on the song "Already."
