There's a certain tradition in New York street rap, popularized by artists such as Nas and Raekwon, that almost defines explanation. It's a story, whether its entirely true doesn't matter, that can perfect pain a picture of New York City, often aided by very distinctive production. While it may never reach the highs of those two artists, the new EP from Mayhem Lauren and DJ Muggs follows in that tradition.
The two have collaborated before on a joint album, Gems From The Equinox, which dropped last year, but have returned with their new Frozen Angels.
