Black Eyed Peas hit up Stephen Colbert's Late Show for some "Street Livin."

A few days back, Black Eyed Peas came through with their first single in a minute, the socially conscious "Street Livin." Over some boom-bap production from Keith Harris and will.i.am, Will, Taboo, and apl.de.ap spit powerful meditations on racism and class in America. Therefore, it's only appropriate that they took their message to one of television's most popular political commentators, Late Show host Stephen Colbert. Backed by a live band complete with brass section, the three emcees held it down on national television, keeping things simple with a low-key performance. They also made sure the lyrics were provided for a little bit of extra emphasis.

Behind them, the powerful video played on in the background, and eventually, the Peas ended their set with fists in the air. Check out footage below, and if you missed the new single, you can catch it by hitting the link above. It's an interesting direction for the group, and it seems as if the departure of Fergie has led to them once again embracing their "hip-hop" roots. Fans have already noted the similarities between this and their earlier work, and it's looking like the Black Eyed Peas are on the verge of a welcome comeback.

Suffice it to say, it's a far more restrained than the ever-popular "My Humps," which proved ubiquitous back in the mid two-thousands. Check out the performance below, and sound off if you're here for The Black Eyed Peas returning to their roots.
