Be the turtle you want to see in the group says DaBoii of SOB x RBE. Being a straight bar spitter in a group of mixed proportions is something that comes easy for the Vallejo rapper. You could argue his unwillingness to change or compromise his mob aesthetic is what keeps the group impervious to rap essentialists.
"Ridin'," released as a video single, is yet another showcase of DaBoii's talents. His first outing "Onna Gang" gave us insight into the living conditions of second generation Vallejo residents, whilst establishing himself as the most forthright member of the group. "Ridin'" takes up where he left off, grabbing his blunderbuss and hitting up unsuspecting homes as target practice.
The video, directed by Tyler Casey who runs his own creative agency, tells the story of a young individual waiting for daybreak so can commence his hoo ride. The main operative seems to be for all members to display their individual flair under the unified banner of the group. Their strategy kind of upends the greater sum argument, because it works on two fronts.
