Immediately after the Pacers' Game 7 loss to LeBron James (and the Cleveland Cavaliers), Indiana's All-Star shooting guard Victor Oladipo reached out to his trainer to ask, "When do we start," "I'm ready to take it to another level."
Oladipo's trainer shared a screenshot of the texts on instagram, along with a caption that read, "I can’t make this shit up! Look at the time on this text, this dude probably hasn’t even showered yet after playing one of the biggest games of his young career and he’s already trying to get back to work! You young athletes out there take notes... @vicoladipo I’m sending you the jet, we start tonight!"
Oladipo's desire to get right back on the court and improve his game has apparently inspired others such as Dallas Mavericks lifer Dirk Nowitzki, but Dirk's trainer wasn't as enthusiastic.
The soon-to-be 40-year old forward took to twitter today to share the hilarious exchange with Mavericks director of player development, Mike Procopio, which includes the following responses:
"I told you 4 yrs ago that you were done 4 yrs ago."
"Your game has been in decline since Havlicek stole the ball from you."
"Your full court sprints are timed with a calendar."
"That being said if you wire me 561 Bitcoin ($5 Mill US) we can start tomorrow!!!"
In his 20 NBA seasons, Nowitzki has career averages of 21.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and he ranks sixth on the NBA's all-time scoring list with 31,187 points which is just 232 behind Wilt Chamberlain.
