It was this summer that Houston rapper Trae The Truth was to be presented with the Ket to City of Houston,becoming the first rapper to receive the distinction. However, the presenceof Hurricane Harvey is what ultimately delayed the ceremony, origianlly set to coincidece with the rapper's "Trae Day" celebration.
A few months later and the city has finally granted Trae the truth the official Key To The City in a ceremony that ttok place this weekend. "On TraeDay I Was Declared The First Rapper To Recieve The Key To Tha City... But Because Of Hurricane Harvey , My Ceremony Was Delayed," the Hustle Gang emcee penned in a caption on Instagram. "Well Today The Mayor And City Officials Presented Me THE Official KEY TO THA CITY!!!! Blessed!!"
Trae now joins a host of other hip-hop figures who have been honored with the reception of the key to their respective stomping grounds, highlighting their philanthropic and economic contributions to the community.
