These days, with so many news items ranging from bewildering to downright sad, the moments where some excellent, positive news shines through can be a real godsend. I'm happy to say that this particular piece of information is one such occasion, with THR reporting that Larry David's much-adored HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm will indeed be returning for a 10th season.
Thankfully, fans of the program won't have to wait ages for new episodes to emerge, unlike HBO's other stalwart, Game of Thrones. In fact, production on the next season of Curb is supposed to resume within the next few months. When asked about his decision to re-up for another set of episodes, Larry David replied, "As I’ve said many times, when one has the opportunity to annoy someone, one should do so." Performing well with network subscribers, the general attitude towards another run for Curb seemed positive from the get-go, but the official word from HBO was only announced a short time ago.
Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, J.B. Smoove, Cheryl Hines, Richard Lewis, Bob Einstein, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen all were all back for this past season, which aired its last show on December 9th. David, Garlin and Jeff Schaffer also served as executive producers, with Schaffer holding down the duties of showrunner. While there's not a ton of information floating around about what viewers can expect next season, Schaffer did say that certain storylines will more than likely be seen again. "I promise if we do do it again, there won’t be as long of a wait," he said after the December 3rd finale. "There are definitely ideas we’ve been entertaining for Cheryl and Ted and what that means for Larry."
